Millennial bettor hits Php 70.4-M Lotto 6/42 jackpot
MANILA, Philippines – A 35-year-old lone jackpot winner of the recent Lotto 6/42 game claimed his winnings amounting to Php 70,440,258.20 at the PCSO Main Office on Monday, June 24, just two days after the actual draw on June 22, 2024.
The millennial bettor hit the jackpot with the combination 40-11-25-07-27-30, which he said were derived from the birth dates and ages of his family members. A devoted lotto patron for almost nine years, he always believed that his luck would eventually come.
The winning ticket was purchased at a lotto outlet in Cabuyao City, Laguna. He shared that he had been visiting relatives in Cabuyao City on that fateful day and decided to pass by a nearby lotto outlet, giving him the chance to play and win.
In claiming prizes, winners have to sign the back of the winning ticket, provide two valid government IDs for verification, and comply with the 20% tax on prizes exceeding 10,000.00 under the TRAIN Law.
According to RA 1169, winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prize at the PCSO Main Office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, otherwise it would be forfeited to form part of the Charity Fund.
Prizes over 10,000.00 can be claimed only at the PCSO Main Office.
