Cebu City’s lucky lottery winner purchased his ticket worth 40.00 from a lotto outlet near the Cebu South Bus Station. After regularly playing the lotto for nearly three decades, he finally reaped the rewards of his staunch support for the PCSO games.

“May mga pagkakataong tumatama ako pero three to four digits lang. Noon pa man naniniwala na talaga ako na totoo po ang lotto at bukod doon, alam ko rin po na sa charity napupunta ang parte ng nagiging benta nila. Sa mga patuloy na tumataya, wag po tayong mawalan ng pag-asa. Ibibigay po ni Lord kung para sa atin talaga,” he said during an interview.

He also said his winnings would be dedicated to various investments and start-ups.

The other winner, a 46-year-old housewife from Quezon City, has been an occasional player for a decade.

During an interview, she stated that she was still undecided on what to do with the prize money, as it was a significant amount. However, she plans to set aside some savings and wants to make the best use of it as she considers it a blessing from God.

She also advised other lotto enthusiasts to continue playing the lotto, “Payo ko po sa mga kagaya kong tumatangkilik sa mga palaro ng PCSO ay patuloy lang po tayo sa paglalaro ng lotto dahil may pag-asang maging milyonaryo at malaki po ang naitutulong natin sa ating mga kababayang may sakit.”

The winners claimed their prizes on May 8 and 9 at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 1169, winners have one year from the date of the draw to redeem their prizes. Otherwise, they will be forfeited and form part of the PCSO Charity Fund.

The general public is also reminded that prizes exceeding 10,000.00 are subject to a 20% final tax in accordance with the TRAIN LAW. To claim the jackpot prizes, winners must write their names, affix their signatures to the back of their winning tickets, and present two valid government IDs at the PCSO Main Office.
