PCSO halts E-Lotto ops
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) is set to stop the operations of current E-Lotto system to give way to the new and improved platform, the agency announced in a Facebook post on Saturday, July 6.
Beginning July 13 (Saturday), PCSO E-Lotto will no longer be available for buying tickets and users are advised to purchase tickets through lotto outlets.
E-Lotto was launched in December 2023 for convenience and accessibility of all lotto patrons nationwide.
PCSO said they are gearing up to make E-Lotto services better but did not announce further details of the new lotto system.
PCSO shared some important reminders to all E-Lotto users:
- From July 6 until July 12, 2024 – advance draws system will no longer available on your E-Lotto application. Users can still buy their tickets on E-Lotto but on a daily basis.
- Starting July 13, 2024 – E-Lotto app will not be available. Players can still buy their tickets through physical lotto outlets.
- For those players with top-up and winnings on their E-Lotto account, PCSO advised them to withdraw it and transfer the amount to their GCash e-wallet on or before July 31, 2024 at 11:59 pm.
- For players with advance draw tickets from July 13 to July 31, 2024, your tickets are still valid and included in the scheduled draws.
- If you have winnings from the advance draw tickets, you may request for manual validation of ticket to claim your prize. Take note that your E-Lotto ticket is VALID FOR ONE YEAR.
- To claim your prizes, present a screenshot of winning ticket, together with your two (2) valid government IDs in any PCSO Branch office or at PCSO Main Office Accounting and Budget Department in Mandaluyong City.
In February this year, Senate minority leader Aquilino Pimentel III urged PCSO stop the pilot run of its e-lotto games, saying that its features should first be scrutinized to ensure its integrity.
In an interview with dzBB, Pimentel said the e-lotto games will make it easy for bettors to win by placing bets on all possible combinations of a game.
In addition, lotto agents suspect that E-Lotto was the reason for the closure of 2,000 lotto outlets nationwide, which the PCSO denied, saying the closures were due to their failure to hit their sales targets.
