60-year-old housewife from Cagayan wins P16-M Mega Lotto jackpot
Lotto Jackpot Winner – A 60-year-old housewife from Tuao, Cagayan won Php 16,881,251.80 in the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw on Friday, August 16, 2024.
The winning combination was 26 – 05 – 36 – 21 – 29 – 45.
The winner, who has been playing the lotto for almost 10 years, shared that the combination was not based on any specific numbers or strategy. “Namili lang ako ng mga numero, kahit ano-ano na lang (It was just a random pick),” she shared during the prize claim process at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City on August 19, 2024.
When asked about her plans after winning the lottery, she mentioned that the money would be used to pay off debts, start a business, save for the future, and support the education of her children.
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude, she said, “Maraming salamat PCSO kasi hindi ko akalain na magkakamit ako ng ganito kalaking halaga sa buhay po namin. Pagpalain din sana kayo ng Maykapal para patuloy kayong makapag-abot ng pag-asa sa iba na nangangarap ding mabago ang buhay.”
The winning ticket was purchased from a lotto outlet in Tuao, Cagayan.
To claim the prize, the winner must sign at the back of the winning ticket, present two valid government-issued IDs for verification, and adhere to the 20% tax deduction on prizes exceeding 10,000.00, as required by the TRAIN Law.
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 1169, winners have one year from the date of the draw to redeem their prizes, otherwise they will be forfeited and will form part of the PCSO Charity Fund.
The Mega Lotto 6/45 draw takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9PM, with live broadcasts on PTV-4 and the official PCSO Facebook Page.
