Senior citizen from CDO claims half of Php 118M Mega Lotto jackpot
MANILA, Philippines – One of the two lucky winners of the Mega Lotto 6/45 draw held on November 11, 2024, has claimed his share of the Php 118,964,375.60 jackpot. The claimant, a 70-year-old senior citizen, presented the winning ticket at the PCSO Main Office on November 26, 2024.
The ticket was purchased at a lotto outlet in Cagayan De Oro, Misamis Oriental, with the winning combination 25-37-08-45-24-18 — a set of numbers the winner has been betting on for nearly 20 years. The winner, who frequently plays two sets of combinations, shared that one of them finally hit the jackpot.
The winner recounted enjoying his lunch at a small karinderya when he spotted a lotto outlet nearby. “Part of my winnings will go to the church because I am truly grateful for this blessing,” the winner shared. The remaining amount will be saved and used to support his family’s daily needs.
When asked for comment, the winner said:
“Kung gusto mo talaga makamit ang isang bagay na inaasam mo, magtiwala ka lang at huwag tumigil hangga’t kaya mo. Noon pa man, naniniwala na talaga ako sa PCSO at lotto kaya hindi ako nawawalan ng pag-asa.”
He added, “You have to be grateful every day and be prepared for whatever is coming your way.”
According to PCSO guidelines, jackpot winners must present the original signed winning ticket and two valid government-issued IDs at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City. Under the TRAIN Law, prizes exceeding 10,000 are subject to a 20% tax deduction.
Winners have one year from the draw date to claim their prizes.
Unclaimed winnings will be forfeited and added to the PCSO Charity Fund, supporting the organization’s various charitable programs.
The Mega Lotto 6/45 draws are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00 PM.
